JULY 4TH WEEKEND INFORMATION

July 2nd Fireworks - Change of Venue:

The Town of Seabrook sponsored fireworks exhibition scheduled for Saturday night, July 2nd is being moved from North Beach to behind the Island House at the Club. High tide at the time of the fireworks would allow the shooting of fireworks on the beach but wouldn't accommodate the traditional crowd that attends this event. We will picnic on the practice golf range (the Club will offer a cash bar) and the fireworks will go off from the 9th Fairway. The fireworks company, fire marshals, insurance, and all other relevant organizations involved have been consulted and feel that this is safe and can handle the large crowd. Everyone is invited.

The Town would like to thank the Club for their outstanding cooperation as it allows the Town to continue a wonderful tradition.

Bill Holtz, Mayor

Some More Information:

~Rain date is Sunday, July 3rd.

~Spectator Area is the Club's driving range and will open at 4pm

~No grills or open flames will be permitted.

~The club will provide a Cap N Sams grill & bar service. Member charges & cash will be accepted. Non-member amenity cards will not be accepted.

JUNE PRESIDENT'S LETTER

June 1, 2011

Dear Member,

I'm pleased to report the golf revenue enhancement initiatives mentioned in previous letters are now in motion and are producing better-than-expected results! Though early, all initial signs indicate high interest and utilization of the new afternoon rates, the Concierge rate and the pre-paid golf rounds discount (for those Members who rent a property and wish to offer their rental guests a reduced rate to enjoy our wonderful golf courses). We are pleased with the early results and will continue to monitor them closely.

Over the past month I've communicated with some of our Members who are concerned as to how Member tee times will be handled during the week of the 2012 PGA Championship. As you may recall, the Board has asked our Members to abide by our current tee time booking process, while supporting Seabrook Island visitors' planning needs through advance bookings, so long as their reservation is guaranteed with a credit card. The goal is to maximize golf revenues and Island exposure. With many of our Members planning on entertaining out of town guests during the event and many not residing full time on Seabrook, some have expressed a concern that our Club will not be able to accommodate their needs. With the PGA being 14 months away it's too early to tell what the demand for golf will be on Seabrook, but bookings will be monitored closely by Brian Thelan, our Head Golf Professional, and his staff. If the demand is high enough to indicate Member needs may not be able to be accommodated, the tee time booking process will be adjusted and Members will be advised. If the demand isn't high enough for concern, then we will rely on our normal operating practices. Maximizing revenues and taking advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase Seabrook Island may result in some shift in available tee times, but our staff will do its very best to accommodate all Members.

Financial Snapshot

Year-To-Date Through April 30, 2011

Actual Budget Variance

Club Operations

Revenue 3,390,367 3,332,954 57,413

Expenses 3,602,583 3,576,403 (26,180)

Excess Revenue Over Expenses (212,216) (243,449) 31,233

Unrestricted Joining Fees 212,713 140,000 72,713

Real Estate (145,195) (32,139) (113,056)

Increase (Decrease) in

Net Assets (144,698) (135,588) (9,110)

As you can see from the "Financial Snapshot" above, the Club is doing well (thanks and congratulations to our golf and tennis departments), though the real estate market continues to leave much to be desired. However, our dining support, specifically in the Island House, was down significantly in the first four months of this year as compared to 2010. Since Member feedback and comment card scores continue to be extremely positive, we don't know what has caused this decrease, but suspect economic restrictions, the loss of the "newness factor" of the Island House, or increased competition may be factors. In any case, we ask that you continue to enjoy and support our dining operation so we may continue to offer the quality of food and service reflected in the high Member satisfaction ratings and comments.

Warm Regards,

Coby Van de Graaf

JULY 4TH WEEKEND INFORMATION

July 2nd Fireworks - Change of Venue:

The Town of Seabrook sponsored fireworks exhibition scheduled for Saturday night, July 2nd. is being moved from North Beach to behind the Island House at the Club.

Seabrook Island Property Owners Association

and Seabrook Island Club Joint Survey - 2011

The Seabrook Island Property Owners Association and Club have combined their annual surveys in a joint effort to achieve cooperation, minimize confusion, and gain cost savings. The purpose of this survey is for you as a property owner and/or member to provide valuable input which will be used by both organizations in their respective planning processes. Your participation is vital to the success of these efforts.

Please note that multiple perspectives on Island and Club issues are desirable. If there are two adult principals in your household, each is encouraged to take the survey independently. A small section relating to household demographics will be bypassed if a second person from the same household responds to the survey.

You should expect to spend about 10 minutes apiece for the SIPOA and SIC sections, making 20 minutes total. We urge you to complete the whole survey and to do so in one sitting. Please use the comments sections freely.

The survey is divided into the following sections:

Part 1: Seabrook Island Property Owners Association - Vision and Governance

Part 2: SIPOA Operations

Part 3: SIPOA Communications

Part 4: SIPOA Facilities and Fitness/Recreational Activities

Part 5: Demographics

Part 6: Seabrook Island Club - Food and Beverage

Part 7: SIC Golf

Part 8: SIC Tennis

Part 9: SIC Beach Club

Part 10: SIC Social Programs

Part 11: SIC General

As in the past two surveys, we are implementing this survey 100% in-house through the use of Survey Monkey. All responses are anonymous. No names or email addresses are available to the Annual Survey Team.

Net Assets (144,698) (32,139) (9,110)

President
