MGA Darwin Olofson - "Locker Room" Team Match Play
Friday and Saturday December 3rd & 4th
This event took on a new personality last year becoming a Locker Room Tournament where the "Top Heavies" defeated the "Bottom Feeders" (top lockers vs. bottom lockers). The format is Ryder-Cup style team match play event using three different formats over two days. Friday's two man team formats are Four-Ball Stroke Play and Modified Alternate Shot. Saturday's final round is Individual Match Play. All gentlemen are invited and encouraged to play and if you do not currently have a locker, you'll be randomly paired with a team. The losing team buys the winning team lunch after play on Saturday. We need at least 24 players to conduct this event so please sign up early if you'd like to play.
SILGA Christmas Scramble Wednesday, December 8th
The Christmas Scramble is the last combined 9 and 18 holers SILGA event for 2010. It will be held December 8th with a 10 am shotgun start, followed by a luncheon and awards ceremony.
The format will be a 9 hole Captain's choice, stand aside on the tee shot only, and scramble in from there. Teams will be arranged by the pro shop, balanced by handicap. Following play, participants get to socialize over an always fabulous lunch, so come on out to play and celebrate the season with fellow SILGA ladies.
Adult Clinics
New winter hours for the clinics go into effect beginning December 2nd. Tuesdays from 10:00 - 11:00 the professional staff conducts a short game clinic on pitching, chipping, putting, and bunker play. One week, we focus on chipping and putting. The next week, we focus on pitching and bunker. So, if you are beginner or just need a tune-up on the short game, call the Golf Shop, 768-2529, to sign up. The cost is $15.
Thursdays from 10:00 - 11:00 and Saturdays from 11 -12, the professional staff conducts a 1 hour clinic devoted to the full swing. This is a great way for you and your guests to get quality instruction prior to playing or just to hone your skills. Whatever your playing level, the full swing clinic can aid your swing development. The cost is $15.00.
