Tuesday, May 18th

Social Bridge in The Deveaux Room

Join us for drinks at 5pm, dinner at 5:30pm and Bridge following dinner. You do not need to make reservations to play bridge, but you do need to make reservations for dinner. Please call 768-2571 to make your dinner reservations. Please let the hostess know that you will be eating dinner with the bridge group.



Thursday, May 20th

Derby Day at The Equestrian Center

5pm-8pm

Enjoy $5 mint juleps & grilled out food for the grand opening of the new Equestrian Center. Live music by our staff member Jason Davis, riding demonstrations by the equestrian staff, prizes for best derby day hat, fabulous auction items and much more! Don't miss this fun annual event. This is an all island wide event for both members & non-members, no reservations necessary.

Memorial Day Program at The Ocean Terrace

4:30pm on The Ocean Terrace (Rain Location Is The Atlantic Room)

Join us for a patriotic performance by The Choraliers & a presentation by Colonel, USMC (Ret.) Leo A. Mercado. Bar drinks will be available for purchase. Food will be avaialble at the Capt N Sams Grill & Pelican's Nest.

MGA Island Cup Match Wednesday, May 19th
Qualifying has begun for the second and final leg of this men's interclub match against our neighbors from the Governor's Club at Kiawah Island. Qualifiers are held in conjunction with MGA Play Days on that course every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, so inform the professional staff before play if you'd like to attempt to qualify. This event will be held at Kiawah Island on the Cougar Point course starting at 9:30 with lunch following.



SILGA Memorial Wednesday, May 19th

Both 9 and 18 hole ladies are paired together for this four person team event. The format is a captain's choice scramble and teams will be handicapped so everyone has a fair chance of winning. A luncheon will follow play so call the golf shop and get signed up - this is the last SILGA Tourney of the season!


The Blitz is back!

Beginning May 26th, join us every Wednesday afternoon at 3 pm for a quick and casual 9 holes of golf. Each player contributes $12 to the prize pool, plus carts, and we play a Captain's Choice Scramble. Please sign up by noon the day of play.



Our second Get Golf Ready program of 2010 is coming up May 17th - 21st. This introductory program is designed to teach you in five short lessons everything you'll need to know to step onto a golf course and play with confidence. Lessons will include on-course activities guided by our trained professional staff who will make sure you have fun each step of way. The cost for the week is $99.00. Space is limited and filling up quickly, so call the golf shop to sign up.

The Seabrook Island Golf Staff is proudly participating in Free Lesson Month sponsored by the PGA. We have scheduled several times throughout the month to meet anyone's schedule. Sign up today for your free 10 minute lesson by calling the Pro Shop at 768-2529. Free lesson schedules are listed below.

Adult Clinics

Every Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 the professional staff conducts a short game clinic on pitching, chipping, putting, and bunker play. One week, we focus on chipping and putting. The next week, we focus on pitching and bunker. So, if you are beginner or just need a tune-up on the short game, call the Golf Shop, 768-2529, to sign up. The cost is $15.



On Thursdays from 9:30- 10:30 and Saturdays from 12 - 1, the professional staff conducts a 1 hour clinic devoted to the full swing. This is a great way for you and your guests to get quality instruction prior to playing or just to hone your skills. Whatever your playing level, the full swing clinic can aid your swing development. The cost is $15.00.

Seabrook League Team News!!!

Our Seabrook Island Ladies Senior 3.0 Team captained by Julie Moore and Deena Ralph swept all three round robin matches over the past weekend at the South Carolina State Championships held at Palmetto Dunes Resort on Hilton Head Island, SC before eventually losing a close match on Monday morning's semifinal match. By reaching the semifinals the Seabrook Team finished in the top four out of the sixteen teams competing. Congratulation ladies on a great weekend and highly successful season!



Transition to the New Racquet Club

We are happy to report construction of the new Racquet Club building is well ahead of schedule and the final touches are being completed this week! We are currently checking in players in the new pro shop and would like to communicate several key transition timeline goals we have established. We hope these are helpful in making the transition as smooth as possible
