Congratulations South Carolina State Champions!
Congratulations to our Men's 3.5 70's team who recently won the South Carolina State Championships held at Wild Dunes Resort. Armand Glassman, Jimmy Rinehart, Team Captain Warren Kimball, Dick Hughes, Kurt Wassen, Chuck Bensonhaver, Jerry Hanchrow & Dick Coomer.
Towel Amnesty
We have recently noticed an increase in the number of towels not being returned to the Racquet Club after play. As a gentle reminder, we ask everyone to please return towels prior to leaving the Racquet Club facility so that they can be picked up by the laundry department and promptly returned to the Racquet Club. The towel return is located at the entrance of the check trailer located in the parking lot. If you happen to find a few towels at home, we would love to get those back, and we won't ask any questions! Thank you for your help.
Construction continues at the Racquet Club!
The temporary trailer is now fully operational and is housing all day to day tennis activity during the transition to our new facility. It is located to the right of the existing parking lot entrance and will serve as the check in point for all play. During the transition we will have basic tennis necessities available; tennis balls, sodas, sunscreen, bug spray, as well as towels, cups and coffee. Racquet stringing services will also be available without interruption.
The existing parking lot has been divided into two areas. When you enter the parking lot the marked area to the right is restricted only for construction traffic. Heavy equipment and trucks will be using this designated area. The left area of the parking lot is reserved for member use. Signage and diagrams are posted throughout the facility to assist members not only for parking in designated areas, but also for our established routes to the courts. For safety reasons, we request that all members follow these designated routes to and from play. For convenience, bike racks have been relocated to the parking lot area adjacent to the check in trailer. We recommend all bike traffic to the Racquet Club use the Long Bend drive entrance (same as car entrance) which will lead you directly to the check in trailer. Direct paths from the old bike rack location to the trailer have been blocked during the construction phase.
We do not anticipate court reservations, programs and normal play to be affected during the transition, with the exception of a little construction noise along the way. We appreciate your patience and cooperation through the transition and remain committed to delivering the best possible tennis experience.
Communicating with the Tennis department. Our old phone numbers (Pro Shop 768-7543 and Mike Kiser direct office 768-7810) are operational and all email accounts and internet connections are now operational. Again, we thank you for your patience during the transition.
