Follow-up on 2010-2011 Capital Assessment

We have received a number of inquiries from members asking if their 2010-2011 capital assessment could be made non-refundable which is similar to the option offered with the 2008-2009 capital assessment. This additional support of the Club was sincerely appreciated and will be offered again with the current assessment. If you would like to have your refundable assessment made non-refundable, please contact Maggie McKellips at 843-768-7504.

Construction Information
Construction continues at the Racquet Club! The temporary trailer is now fully operational and is housing all day to day tennis activity during the transition to our new facility. It is located to the right of the existing parking lot entrance and will serve as the check in point for all play. During the transition we will have basic tennis necessities available; tennis balls, sodas, sunscreen, bug spray, as well as towels, cups and coffee. Racquet stringing services will also be available without interruption.
The existing parking lot has been divided into two areas. When you enter the parking lot the marked area to the right is restricted only for construction traffic. Heavy equipment and trucks will be using this designated area. The left area of the parking lot is reserved for member use. Signage and diagrams are posted throughout the facility to assist members not only for parking in designated areas, but also for our established routes to the courts. For safety reasons, we request that all members follow these designated routes to and from play. For convenience, bike racks have been relocated to the parking lot area adjacent to the check in trailer. We recommend all bike traffic to the Racquet Club use the Long Bend drive entrance (same as car entrance) which will lead you directly to the check in trailer. Direct paths from the old bike rack location to the trailer have been blocked during the construction phase.
We do not anticipate court reservations, programs and normal play to be affected during the transition, with the exception of a little construction noise along the way. We appreciate your patience and cooperation through the transition and remain committed to delivering the best possible tennis experience.
Communicating with the Tennis department. Our old phone numbers (Pro Shop768-7543 and Mike Kiser direct office768-7810) are operational and all email accounts and internet connections are now operational. Again, we thank you for your patience during the transition.
GOLF NEWS

Seabrook/Kiawah Governor's Club Special Golf Days
An invitation has been extended to the members of the Seabrook Island Club to play the Osprey Point Course on Kiawah Island for $50 (plus tax) on Thursday and Friday, December 10th & 11th as well as January 7th & 8th. The members of the Kiawah Island Governor's Club have the same offer to play our courses on those dates.

This invitation extends to members as well as accompanied guests. Tee times may be made up to one week in advance and must be made through our golf shop. If you're interested in booking a time, please call or email a member of our golf professional staff who will kindly set it up with the pro staff at Osprey Point. Our email address is golf@discoverseabrook.com and phone number is 768-2529.

We are pleased to offer this special opportunity to our members and also look forward to being gracious hosts to our neighbors from Kiawah Island who choose to visit. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of assistance.

Golf Shop Credit Book Reminder
We'd like to invite you to come by the shop to pick up any last minute gifts for your golfing loved ones and take advantage of the great selection of merchandise still available. Please remember that all golf shop credit earned prior to December 1st must be used by year end.

Adult Clinics
Every Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 the professional staff conducts a short game clinic on pitching, chipping, putting, and bunker play. One week, we focus on chipping and putting. The next week, we focus on pitching and bunker. So, if you are beginner or just need a tune-up on the short game, call the Golf Shop, 768-2529, to sign up. The cost is $15.

On Thursday's from 9:30- 10:30 the professional staff conducts a 1 hour clinic devoted to the full swing. This is a great way for you and your guests to get quality instruction prior to playing or just to hone your skills. Whatever your playing level, the full swing clinic can aid your swing development. The cost is $15.00
