Adult Clinics

Every Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 the professional staff conducts a short game clinic on pitching, chipping, putting, and bunker play. One week, we focus on chipping and putting. The next week, we focus on pitching and bunker. So, if you are beginner or just need a tune-up on the short game, call the Golf Shop, 768-2529, to sign up. The cost is $15.

On Thursdays from 9:30- 10:30 and Saturdays from 12 - 1, the professional staff conducts a 1 hour clinic devoted to the full swing. This is a great way for you and your guests to get quality instruction prior to playing or just to hone your skills. Whatever your playing level, the full swing clinic can aid your swing development. The cost is $15.00.

TENNIS NEWS

Transition to the New Racquet Club

We are happy to report construction of the new Racquet Club building is well ahead of schedule and the final touches are being completed this week! We would like to communicate several points to help make the transition as smooth as possible.

We anticipate moving the tennis operation out of the temporary trailer beginning Thursday afternoon through Friday (April 22 and 23). Player check in should begin in the new building this Saturday, April 24th. Until that time, or otherwise posted, players should continue to check in through the temporary trailer as exact schedules and timelines may vary slightly. Check in signs will be posted to help facilitate this process. We anticipate the full transition to the new facility including the retail operation to take several weeks, but are committed to completing the process as quickly and efficiently as possible while at the same time balancing the task of delivering a high level of customer service.

In addition to the building transition, the existing tennis parking lot is scheduled to be repaved. We anticipate this happening next week and further details will follow in a separate email blast. The parking lot will be closed to all car and foot traffic during the process. Temporary parking will be set up by Robert Terry, Facility Supervisor, and will be very similar to the parking arrangements used during the Alan Fleming Tournament which will utilize the grass area in front of courts 11-14. It is important the fire lane stays open on Long Bend Drive and the designated parking areas will be clearly marked. We look forward to seeing you in the new building very soon!

ROUNDS 4 RESEARCH

Secure a rare chance to tee it up at some of the best known and most exclusive golf clubs in the game in an innovative online auction that runs from April 7 to April 21.
More than 650 courses from the Carolinas, Georgia, Virginia and Texas will be available for bid as the golf industry rallies to raise money for turfgrass research and legislative fights (Carolinas).

Some of the game's greatest venues are ready to welcome your foursome if you post the winning bid. Go to www.Rounds4Research.com and view an updated list of courses on offer, and register to receive an email reminder in the hours before the auction launch.

That list will continue to grow right up until auction time, but already high profile partners include:

East Lake Golf Club - home of the PGA TOUR Championship

Pinehurst No. 2 - which hosts its third U.S. Open Championship in 2014

Harbour Town Golf Links - home of the PGA Tour's Verizon Heritage Classic

The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort - host of the 1991 Ryder Cup and the PGA Championship in 2012

Sedgefield Country Club - Home of the PGA Tour's Wyndham Championship

Exclusive private playgrounds ranked by Golf Digest among the best courses in the country include Sage Valley, Long Cove, Yeamans Hall, Newport Dunes, and The Homestead's Cascades Course.

In each region proceeds will benefit research critical to the continued health of our great game and the billions of dollars in economic impact it generates in the participating states. In the Carolinas portions of funds raised will also go towards protecting our legislative issues at our state capitals in Raleigh and Columbia.

Seabrook Island Club wants to help you celebrate in style
Greetings!

It's that time of year again...when the weather warms up, the island is flooded with friends and family and the Pelican's Nest opens, bringing a temporary level of high demand to the Beach Club dining area. To maximize our ability to provide great service for our members and their guests during this time our weekly Tuesday night Member's Night, Saturday Steakhouse Night and Palmetto Dining Room service have been suspended until the week of Tuesday, April 13th. Bohicket's will continue to serve lunch and dinner during this time.

Additionally, due to extremely high demand for our Easter Brunch, the Pelican's Nest kitchen will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 4th, but the bar will remain open from 11am to 4pm offering cold beverages.
